             Minutes from Chirnside Community Council AGM

                       Red Lion Lounge 4th December 7.00pm

Attendees included: Tyson Purves, Alan Murray, David Jeffrey, Fenwick Cummings,

Jimmy Lovell, Ian Black, Mark Robinson, Cllr James Anderson, Lesley Robinson,

Bob Owtram. Apologies: Geoff Lomax, Gillian Wilson.

Following a welcome from the chair minutes from the previous meeting were approved.

We would like to thank Cllr James Anderson for all his advice and assistance in allowing us to continue with a Community Council.

Election of office bearers: Still Standing as previous and all members agreed to abide

with the code of conduct and constitution.

Treasurers report: Accounts were presented and approved, these had been externally audited and signed by an independent party and can now be presented to the SBC.

Police Report: 3 minor incidents had been reported from the monthly update.

Planning: No applications have been submitted.

Playball resurface: This was now complete and being used, no line markings have been done due to the asking price of a further 8k for this. Flood lights are being looked into regarding repairing or renewing.

Funding: Further funding is available of up to 5k and Tyson is in discussion with the school regarding adding a Trim Trail at the school however this would be in the region of 9k.

Mower: Tyres are currently with the supplier to get the anti puncture material added it is also due a service and we have purchased the required materials for this.

Fundraising: Tyson has organised a xmas bonus card which will assist with helping fund the fuel for the mower etc. he is also going to arrange a monthly bonus ball for the new year. Mark is going to arrange a quiz night in the Red lion and Lesley will look into organising a coffee morning. Cllr Anderson will send us the necessary licenses to cover the bonus ball etc.

Village Parking: Council informed us that there is no chance of any type of pedestrian crossing ever happening, but road stencils and safety bollards are on going for areas near the school, Tyson still has the car park at the football pitch in hand.

Jim Clark: Tyson to continue in discussion regarding the possibility of signage or a trail map.

Safety: The path at the east end of the village has had new drainage grates fitted but these are now rising and causing a safety concern, Cllr Anderson informed us he has  been dealing with this concern and hopefull of an outcome soon.

Grass cutting: We are still in discussion with the council over the allocated hours available to us, the area around the trees at the school has been cut, again thank you to the volunteers who have done a great job over the summer months.
